Step-by-step guide

  1. Explain A.R.E.: "Three questions that your relationship asks every day"
  2. A β€” Accessibility: "Can I reach you? Are you accessible?"
  3. R β€” Responsiveness: "Do you respond to my needs? Do you hear?"
  4. E β€” Engagement: "Are you engaged? Are you emotionally with me?"
  5. Ask each to rate (1–10): "How much do you feel A, R, E this week?"
  6. Discuss: what affects the rating? What is needed to lift it by one point?

  • As homework for regular monitoring
