Step-by-step guide

  1. Start with an automatic thought
  2. Ask what it would mean if it were true
  3. Repeat until the core fear or belief appears
  4. Name the emotional meaning
  5. Use cognitive flexibility or exposure planning based on the result
  6. Return to ARC to see how the belief affects behavior

  • Module 4
  • When surface thoughts are repetitive but the deeper meaning is unclear

Warnings
